If you have been unable to use Canva this morning, you are not alone.
Update, 2 July 2026, 13:15: Everything appears to be working normally again on Canva early this afternoon.
Canva has become an essential platform for anyone wanting to express their creativity and imagination. Simple to get to grips with and free in its basic version, it lets users produce illustrations, edit images, create presentations and make more impactful CVs.
The disruption is therefore a significant blow for Canva’s 40 million users this Thursday, 2 July 2026. Since this morning, users have reported problems with the platform, chiefly when importing images. Here is what we know.
Canva outage affects image imports
DownDetector has received a large number of reports concerning Canva. This is clearly not an isolated issue, so you are not the only person experiencing difficulties on the platform this morning. Whether using the website or the mobile app, users are unable to import photos, images and videos from their personal library.
When attempting to import a file, Canva reports that it cannot upload it. “You appear to be disconnected or offline, or Canva’s servers are unavailable.” The problem is not at your end: it is indeed on Canva’s side. Switching browsers is unlikely to resolve it, as the issue has been seen on Chrome, Firefox and Safari alike.
No official Canva statement yet
For the time being, the platform itself is not displaying any notice about the outage. Canva has also not yet commented on the matter on social media, although a response will presumably follow shortly. As the minutes pass, however, the fault continues and users are becoming increasingly frustrated.
Alternatives while Canva is unavailable
For now, the only option is to be patient while the outage is fixed. Until these issues have been resolved, we can only suggest using an alternative to edit your photos and work on your projects, while watching for an official statement from Canva. We will, of course, keep you updated as the situation develops.
