Intel unveils Core Ultra 200HX Plus processors for gaming laptops

For mobile workstations and high-performance laptops

Intel has announced its new Core Ultra 200HX Plus processor range, aimed at gaming laptops and mobile workstations. The line-up comprises two chips: the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus.

Core Ultra 200HX Plus specifications

The Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus is a 24-core, 24-thread CPU with a maximum clock speed of 5.5 GHz. The Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus has 20 cores and reaches up to 5.3 GHz. For both processors, Intel has raised the inter-chip connection frequency by 900 MHz compared with the base models, which should speed up communication between the processor and memory controller.

Connectivity and laptop availability

The platform supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and Thunderbolt 5. According to Intel, Thunderbolt 5 can deliver up to 80 Gbit/s of bidirectional bandwidth, increasing to 120 Gbit/s with Bandwidth Boost mode.

Laptops powered by Core Ultra 200HX Plus processors will start appearing today. Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Razer and other brands have announced such models.

Last week, Intel also unveiled the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus (Arrow Lake-S) processors, although these are intended for desktop PCs.
