Huawei Mate 80 GTS Expected at Spring Launch

Huawei Consumer Business Group has announced that its spring new-product launch conference will take place on 23 March.

The event will introduce the Huawei Enjoy 90 Pro Max and Enjoy 90 Plus, which have already been reported on, alongside a new smartphone in the Huawei Mate 80 series. The forthcoming handset is expected to be called the Huawei Mate 80 GTS.

Positioned as a high-performance smartphone, the Huawei Mate 80 GTS will feature the Kirin 9030 Pro system-on-chip and an integrated active cooling fan. This will mark Huawei’s first use of physical cooling in one of its phones. The Huawei Mate 80 GTS is aiming to become the most powerful HarmonyOS phone currently available.

Kirin 9030 Pro and HarmonyOS 6

The Kirin 9030 Pro has a nine-core architecture running at a high 2.75 GHz frequency, while an enhanced version may operate at an even higher clock speed. The new handset will come with HarmonyOS 6 pre-installed.

Huawei Mate 80 series demand

The Huawei Mate 80 series was released more than 15 weeks ago and continues to see strong demand. Sales have exceeded 4 million units.

Huawei has also begun global sales of its flagship Huawei Mate 80 Pro smartphone.
