The Nintendo Switch OLED is the flagship console in Nintendo’s range. Its OLED screen and performance have continued to win over gamers since launch. Better still, you can pick one up for under €195 at AliExpress if you are quick enough to be among the first.
As part of its anniversary celebrations, AliExpress is rolling out a wave of premium offers this morning. The event runs from 16 to 25 March inclusive, although the strongest deals are likely to disappear before the end of today. For instance, the Switch OLED drops sharply to just €212 rather than €349 when you use the ASFR30 or FRAS30 code.
The retailer displays a “Best Price Guarantee” for the console, meaning you can be confident you will not find it cheaper elsewhere. That is also why shoppers are rushing to secure the deal and stock is already close to running out.
AliExpress is not only offering these huge reductions; its service is included too. The Switch OLED comes with free, fast delivery from Europe, arriving within a few days and without customs charges. The console is covered by the official two-year manufacturer’s warranty, includes free returns within 15 days for a full refund, and can also be paid for through PayPal in four interest-free instalments.
Nintendo Switch OLED: a console that still proves its worth
Released in October 2021, the Switch OLED is an upgraded edition of Nintendo’s iconic hybrid console. It retains the original model’s flexible design, with detachable Joy-Con controllers, a wide adjustable rear stand for stable tabletop play, and an improved dock featuring an RJ-45 Ethernet port for a reliable wired connection when playing on a television. Its three gaming modes - handheld, tabletop and TV - are all still available on this portable console, which measures 102 x 242 x 13.9 mm and weighs 420 g with the controllers attached. Sensors including the accelerometer and gyroscope also make motion-based controls more intuitive.
The Switch OLED’s main upgrade is its new 7-inch capacitive touchscreen OLED display, which has a native 1280 x 720-pixel resolution at 60 Hz. Without a backlight, the panel produces vivid colours, true blacks and high contrast, putting it well ahead of the standard Switch’s 6.2-inch LCD screen. This technology increases immersion in detail-rich games, while slimmer bezels make better use of the display area despite the broadly similar overall dimensions. In TV mode through HDMI, it supports up to 1080p at 60 frames per second and PCM 5.1 audio output, delivering more immersive sound through its upgraded stereo speakers.
Performance and storage on the Switch OLED
Inside, the Switch OLED keeps Nintendo’s custom NVIDIA Tegra processor, combining ARM Cortex-A57/A53 CPUs with a 256-core Maxwell GPU. It is paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, expandable by microSD card up to 2 TB. This gives you enough space to install a broad selection of games without relying on the cloud. The hardware provides excellent smoothness across Nintendo Switch titles, from backwards-compatible games to AAA exclusives in every play mode. As expected, physical and digital games from the original model’s catalogue are backwards compatible.
Connectivity is comprehensive on the Switch OLED, including dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 for Joy-Con controllers, headphones and accessories, a motion-detection sensor, a QR code/NFC reader for amiibo, and a USB-C port for charging and OTG. It runs Nintendo’s Horizon OS, which receives regular updates for security and online features through Nintendo Switch Online, including cloud saves, multiplayer and retro classics from the NES, SNES and N64.
Battery life and features of the Nintendo Switch OLED
The Switch OLED’s 4,310 mAh battery offers between 4.5 and 9 hours of battery life depending on the game, and takes around 3 hours to recharge via USB-C or the dock. There is little doubt that the doubled 64 GB storage, adjustable stand, improved speakers and docked Ethernet make it an ideal choice among portable consoles: this model still shines in 2026 thanks to its extensive library of exclusive games and hybrid positioning. At under €215, it is difficult to do better, and such a substantial instant discount may not return for a long time.
