Huawei Pura X2 battery upgrade

Insider information

Huawei is preparing a substantial battery upgrade for its wide-screen foldable Pura X2 smartphone. Unlike the previous-generation model, which used a 4,610mAh battery, the forthcoming clamshell handset could receive a 6,000mAh cell.

The Pura X, the first-generation Pura foldable smartphone, launched with a 4,610mAh battery, alongside 66W wired charging, 40W wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.

Huawei plans larger smartphone batteries

As well as the second wide-screen foldable smartphone, tipster SuperDimensional said that entry-level devices such as the Enjoy series will eventually be fitted with 8,000mAh batteries, while flagship models will debut with 7,000mAh cells.

The tipster also stated that Huawei will release smartphones with 7,000mAh batteries in the second half of this year. SuperDimensional previously shared four images of the Huawei Pura X2, showing new colour options.

SuperDimensional was the first to report that the Huawei Mate 70 Premium Edition would feature an optimised Kirin 9010B system-on-chip, and also revealed the specifications of the Huawei Pura 80 and Mate 70 Air.
