Shin Megami Tensei V Demons Get a New Look

Ahead of Shin Megami Tensei V arriving in November, we have been publishing exclusive previews of Atlus’ eagerly awaited RPG. Earlier features explored the protagonist and supporting cast; this time, the focus shifts to the other inhabitants of its world: the demons.

Shin Megami Tensei V demons and the Nahobino

As covered before, Shin Megami Tensei V begins with its hero as an ordinary third-year secondary-school pupil in Tokyo, Japan. Following an incident at one of the capital’s railway stations, however, he becomes caught in a collapsed tunnel and is transported to a demon-filled desert. Fearing for his survival, the protagonist is offered help by a mysterious figure called Aogami. The pair merge, creating a condemned being known as a Nahobino.

With the ability to battle and negotiate with demons at his disposal, the protagonist sets off with his friends in an effort to prevent Tokyo from being overrun by a demonic invasion.

More than 200 demons to encounter

Players will come across a varied roster of over 200 demons in Shin Megami Tensei V. This collection of creatures features familiar favourites alongside several new designs from character designer Masayuki Doi. Atlus has also provided new screenshots of the characters players will meet throughout Shin Megami Tensei V. From the upbeat Ichiro Dazai to the dependable, principled Yuzuru Atsuta, the gallery below offers another look at the game’s cast.
