Horizon: Zero Dawn's Aloy Joins Genshin Impact

Aloy arrives on PlayStation

Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn joined Genshin Impact yesterday, and PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players can obtain her at no cost.

To recruit her, first reach Adventure Rank 20. Then open the in-game mail to collect Aloy along with her Predator Bow. Restart Genshin Impact on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, and she will appear on the character selection screen. Players who have not reached Adventure Rank 20 will receive Aloy in the PlayStation 4 and 5 editions on 12 October, as part of Genshin Impact's 2.2 update.

Genshin Impact availability on PC and mobile

Players using PC or mobile will also be able to get Aloy eventually. She will arrive on those platforms with the 2.3 update on 23 November. Until then, she is exclusive to PlayStation. PlayStation save data transfers to other devices, though, meaning that after unlocking her on PlayStation 5, you can carry on travelling with her on PC or mobile.

Aloy's abilities in Genshin Impact

With Aloy in your party, creatures that drop raw meat, fowl or chilled meat will not be alarmed by your movements. Her bow is every bit as deadly as expected and can be fired rapidly from any distance. Holding the shot for longer improves its accuracy, making it ideal for sniping chances. Drawing on the Frozen Wilds she previously explored, she can equip her arrows with frost damage and hurl freeze bombs that detonate on contact. Each of these moves inflicts Cryo damage.
