Skoda Auto has announced a partnership with software company 3SS to introduce a new in-car entertainment platform for the brand’s vehicles. Integrated through Skoda Play, the solution is powered by the 3Ready Automotive system.
Skoda Play entertainment platform
The platform brings together video from multiple sources, including news, educational programming and branded Skoda content. Its recommendations are tailored to user preferences and the vehicle type, while both live streams and on-demand content are supported.
Through Skoda Play, the manufacturer will also be able to send service guidance, product updates and marketing materials directly to the infotainment system.
Connected technology and digital cabin functions
Management tools include analytics and content-control capabilities, enabling Skoda to monitor user engagement. The platform is built on Linux Automotive OS and is compatible with Linux, AOSP and Android Automotive, providing flexibility for forthcoming models.
The integration broadens the vehicle’s digital cabin functions and reinforces the brand’s focus on connected technologies. Similar solutions are increasingly appearing in new 2026 cars, where the infotainment system is becoming a fully fledged hub for content and services.
